Hello and welcome to my blog site! My name is Kelly Barnes. I'm a 52 year old married man from Graniteville, SC (close to Augusta, Ga). I'm a father of 7 kids (a blended family) who absolutely loves Yeshua Hamashiach or Jesus Christ! My greatest pursuit is to KNOW Him intimately and bring Him glory with my life. Here's my testimony in a nutshell: Although I made a public confession of faith in Christ at age 8 in 1978, I didn't really get serious about my relationship with Him until my late teens, and especially once I got involved with a campus ministry during my college years. Ever since then, I've been on a pursuit to truly know God and find and fulfill my purpose or destiny in Him.
I'm not one of those believers who are content with knowing my name is recorded in heaven. I'm not content with knowing about the Lord and the Scriptures, and I have NO interest in mere theological discourse. While I'm always seeking to learn and better understand the Word and the doctrines of my faith (as it provides the foundation), my study and/or discussion of Scripture and of the things of God and His kingdom are not the end goal, but rather a means to my end goal, which is an intimate and experiential knowledge of our Lord and Savior. I see the Word of God NOT as a means to increase my head knowledge or so I can be more religious and be able to debate with others, but as a springboard and invitation to encounter and engage Him in deeply personal and life-altering ways! My desire is that God's very presence, glory and power in the Person of His Son and the anointing of His Spirit would saturate my life so that His nature and the reality of His kingdom would be reflected and released through my life - all for His glory and the edifying of His Church or Bride! I want the world to know, as well as much of the religious community that has settled for dry, powerless, and even depressing "churchianity", that God is not a concept or doctrine to be studied or analyzed, but a PERSON who invites us to KNOW and WALK with Him intimately! If you share the same desires or feelings, this blog will hopefully serve you well in your own pursuit of knowing your Lord!
